The Bad Plays and Correct Plays of Blackjack

There are different kinds of blackjack plays that you can read and see anywhere. All of these blackjack plays do fall into one of these types: bad play and correct play. Enumerated below are some common bad plays and directly below them are their corresponding correct plays in blackjack.

Bad Play: Always takes the offered insurance side bet in blackjack. Correct Play: Never take any insurance side bet offered to you.

Bad Play: You hit on hand 16 against the dealer's two. Correct Play: You stand on hand 16 against the dealer's two.

Bad Play: You hit on hand 11 against the dealer's ten. Correct Play: You double down on hand 11 against the dealer's ten.

Bad Play: You stand on hand 16 against the dealer's seven. Correct Play: You hit on hand 16 against the dealer's seven.

Bad Play: You stand on hand 16 against the dealer's nine. Correct Play: You hit on hand 16 against the dealer's nine.

Bad Play: You insure a hand consisting of a pair of ten's. Correct Play: You never insure a hand consisting of a pair of ten's.

Bad Play: You stand on hand 12 against the dealer's two. Correct Play: You hit on hand 12 against the dealer's two.

Bad Play: You stand on hand 16 against the dealer's ten. Correct Play: You hit on hand 16 against the dealer's ten.

Bad Play: You stand on hand 12 against the dealer's three. Correct Play: You hit on hand 12 against the dealer's three.

Bad Play: You always insure a hand of Blackjack or natural. Correct Play: You never insure a hand of Blackjack or natural.

Bad Play: You stand on a hand consisting of an Ace and seven against the dealer's nine. Correct Play: You hit on a hand consisting of an Ace and seven against the dealer's nine.

Bad Play: You stand on a hand consisting of an Ace and seven against the dealer's six. Correct Play: You double down on a hand consisting of an Ace and seven against the dealer's six.

Bad Play: You hit a pair of eight's against the dealer's ten. Correct Play: You must split a pair of eight's against the dealer's ten.

Bad Play: You double down on hand 11 against the dealer's Ace. Correct Play: You hit on hand 11 against the dealer's Ace.

Bad Play: You double down on hand nine against the dealer's two. Correct Play: You hit on hand nine against the dealer's two.
